VCDS for 2024+ Cars

Hello.

After learning about the UNECE (SFD2) issue, I and maybe many users like me who have vehicles after 2024 are excitedly waiting for the new VCDS version to work in a way that will overcome this situation.

When I first connected my new 2024 superb vehicle to VCDS 24.7 with HexV2, 8-9 warning sensor lights came on in the vehicle. VCDS could only read one module at that moment, the others were naturally locked. The only way to turn off the sensor warnings was to remove the battery terminals and reconnect them, but from that moment on, the vehicle did not start at all. When I called roadside assistance and asked for support, the team came and they were also surprised because the vehicle was new and they did not have much information. They connected to the company via the internet with a diag. laptop and applied a software update from Skoda, and the vehicle then started. I do not think that the problem of the vehicle not starting after removing and reconnecting the battery terminals was related to VCDS.

When I removed and reattached the battery terminals, HEXv2 was not installed in the vehicle at that time. However, before car’s malfunction issue, I saw that after installing HEXv2 while the vehicle was off and starting the vehicle, the sensor errors I mentioned above occurred. After removing and reattaching the battery terminals and clearing the errors, I saw that the warnings did not come when connecting HEXv2 while the vehicle was running.

I am currently anxiously waiting for the new version of vcds and hex firmware to come out instead of using the product, because I am afraid of experiencing the same things. I shared it for you to know. The explanation above may seem confusing, if you want detailed information, I can provide it separately.

Should this happen again (or if you want to try again), use Beta 24.8 . It should connect to the other modules and let you see why the warnings came on. I can't really see how a scan tool just reading things would trigger a malfunction like that, but then again we're talking about buggy 2024 VAG cars

When I disconnected the battery terminal of the vehicle and reconnected it, the place where the vehicle got confused was the garage in the basement of the building. Under no circumstances could a vehicle rescuer come and tow the vehicle. Thank God, a Skoda technician came there and started the vehicle with the software update. My next attempt will actually be to disconnect and reconnect the battery terminal of the vehicle normally, while the hexv2 is not plugged, and I will be on the road so that it can be connected to the tow truck in case of a possible situation.

after making sure that car is behaving normally with battery disconneciton/reconnection, then I will test 24.8 and will share over here.

I myself also experienced some issues with the new "UNECE " ME4.0 Enyaq (MY2024). What happened is that after detecting the modules through the gateway it seemed to get "locked" and didn't close the session properly leaving the CAN in a "not ready" state. Both of the times I had to remove ground terminal and engage the brake pedal to "start" the car, and really force the ECU´s to cold boot once I re-attached the ground terminal. I also tried unlocking the gateway with the SFD code first, but it kept the CAN busy.
Only way was ODIS for this car. This was back in spring so probably on sw 23.11. Interesting to see the new beta, will definitely try it when I have time

We bought a 2024 Q5 Hybrid and tried to scan it with the Hex-V2 using the latest firmware and software. Autoscan runs and shows which modules have errors. (Yes, day 1 and 60 miles I already have a CEL) I'm unable to click on modules individually like the Engine, they don't seem to initialize. Any thoughts on this one?

VDCS did ask me to register the VIN, so I was able to license the car even though it can't do anything... I'll try the Beta and see what happens. I'm willing to help test if you need someone.
