HEX-NET Update failed!

Since I am now starting longer trips to work, I want to be able to check the car using my mobile.

Issue: on Auto-Scan, or Select, an ASAM update is requested, I select Download updates, download happens, verify happens, but always fail on exact same step 11/80 with the error as in the picture.

Phone and HEX-NET are connected to the same AP. Phone is Iphone 8 Plus. I have tried Clear Cache, Clear Dataset, there is no change. An Auto-Scan will show ROD: N/A if that is important? And no ASAM dataset.

How to troubleshoot this further?

This is most likely because you were previously on an alpha/beta channel with newer rods, and are now on the release channel where those rods are not available. I put your interface back on the beta channel, please try again. If the update still doesn't go through, please try doing the update with VCIConfig on a PC.

Shaun, thanks, I wasn't aware of the beta/release difference. But I am confused, this car is 2018, are these rods still in beta? This does sound odd to me, so I must be wrong somehow.

Further, updating via VCDS-Mobile ended in the same Update Failed! in the same rod 11/80 whichever that is, because I can't see it. Would be wise to post that pop-up menu at the screen bottom?

Via VCIConfig on PC, update succeeded. However, doing an auto-scan resulted in an what seems endless ASAM dataset updates pop-up, everytime downloading the exact same size and same 84 or so rods. It just did not stop the cycling.

Status as I speak: no ASAM data for my retrofitted module 65 Tire pressure module. Rod is reported as N/A I don't understand why, as the PC auto-scan works fine.

The good news is that I can access all other modules, someone is happy here in NL.

no ASAM data for my retrofitted module 65 Tire pressure module.

The clue I suspect is the word retrofitted, if VCDS isn't expecting a module with that part number to be present in your model of car it won't have a link to the ASAM data.

Maybe yes maybe not. I indicated that, so I give full picture if possible.
I do software audits for a living, from functional point of view, part time… no guru here ok? So I would straight ask: why on PC there isn’t an issue and on mobile yes? I think it might be a simple issue?

VCDS on a PC and VCDS-Mobile are completely separate codebases, and also running entirely different datasets, so you are kind of comparing apples and oranges here. If this works on PC it is possible that a future update will bring coverage of this to mobile, but as this is a retrofit I don't make any promises.

If I am trying to use Live Data HUD, no joy.

I selected the same IDE as above, terminal 30 voltage and coolant temperature. Regardless if I use graph or text view, I get other IDEs I haven't select, which btw don't make sense, flap motor, is this from HVAC actually?

If you want, you could be a debug log in mobile like this: [Options] debug level = 001f [Submit] now start the incorrect live data HUD. Email that debug log to us or make sure it is synced to cloud, and I can check into what is going on there.

Odd one today. Combination of VCDS and gateway invented new modules on my car, which are not installed. No changes were done whatsoever with regards to gateway installation list. So issues with:
- 05 claimed not registered
- 29 I don't have it
- 39 I don't have it.
- 75 I don't have it.

Fun fact: the fault code on gateway is caused by me, I forgot the vcds plugged in the entire day.
