ErWin - stuck in endless loop and can't download

Hi all - it's my first post here and I'm a bit stuck! I signed up for a 24h flat rate access to erWin, but the website seems to be stuck in an endless loop and won't allow me to download the PDF manuals. Whenever I login, it directs me to the Data Protection Notice and requests that I accept the terms of use, but only offers an 'OK' button, then promptly logs me out. Is there something I'm missing? I logged a ticket with erWin, but they told me to contact my importer, which wasn't helpful! Many thanks, Sam

VW has locked Erwin to all Australian uses due to Australian regulations banning provision of service information on electric cars to non electrically qualified service people for safety reasons. VW in their wisdom decided to simply ban downloading of all service information for all cars by Australian users rather than just prevent electric car information download. You can get around it by using a VPN and overseas address but you cant get car specific information based on a VIN number of an Australian delivered car unless you have a friendly VW dealer look it up for you

EDIT: No dice unfortunately, it looks as though it still won't let me on because I selected Australia as my location when creating an account, and it now won't let me change that data field @Uwe - any chance you could please capture this info in the wiki to save the next Aussie paying for erWin and being unable to use it?

Doesn't Australia have some kind of requirement to make repair info available? Of course I wouldn't put it beyond a government to have contradictory requirements.

If you paid money and did not receive the goods or service promised, I suggest you demand a refund, and if none is forthcoming, take the matter up with your payment processor and/or the appropriate authorities.

Thanks Uwe, yes I agree we have good consumer protection legislation and should be able to access this information. I now have a contact email for the national importer and will follow up to request access or a refund, and to see if they have an 'official' statement on why it's not working

EDIT: As a quick update - the email address provided for the Australian importer is incorrect...

Just tried myself, wish i saw this before hand, keep going round in circles, saying you are not authorised to view blah blah blah, but VW was authorised to take my money no issue..

Banning information isn't going to stop some random young Einstein from poking his spanner in there. Instead, will get some yahoo serious learning a life lesson the hard way.

Are the same rules in effect next door in New Zealand?

erWin is a website you access not software you download, so if the bank use that argument they are incorrect.
