When using my Hex-net via usb cable it will auto-scan perfect. But when I try to connect to individual module's to program them, it will only connect to 2 out of the entire list. All others throw an error. No Communication with Controller. I have tried restarting the VCDS software, restarting my computer, different usb ports, engine running and off with ignition on, I have reset the Hex-net device all with no success. The led's on the device are as they should be and when I access Options and click Test I get the Ok pop up. I need to programme the Auto-Trans code as the vehicle is now manual and the TCM has been removed. I understand the Engine code also need to be re-programmed to show the correct Manual Gearbox is fitted. I am able to program the Instrument panel and the CAN module but that is all. I have checked the wiring harness for any wiring problems. There are no obvious issues there. Not sure where to go from here. Any suggestions please?

Any suggestions please?
First, please verify that the check box labelled "Bypass DoIP" on the [Options] screen is checked, and if not, please check it, click [Save], then exit and re-start VCDS.

One thing that can cause no comms to the ECU is failing relay in the immobilizers. The K-Line doesn't go directly to the ECU. It goes to the immobilizer, through a relay in there, and comes out as the W line to the ECU. You may want to pull the immobilizer temporarily, put a jumper between K and W, and check whether you can then communicate with the ECU.

Hi Uwe, I followed your suggestions. First checking the "Bypass DoIP" in the options tab, saving, exiting VCDS, running test (ok) Auto scan (ok). Today I pulled the immobiliser and bridged the W & K lines, still no joy. I can open Modules/Channels
15: Air bags
17: Instruments
19: Can Gateway
25 Immobilizer

All other Modules/Channels pop up "No Response from Controller"

Conducted another Auto scan. Results as follows.

I have temp warning alarms and instrument light on since removing the Automatic Transmission. Cant help thinking the ECU cant see the Transmission Oil Temp sensor in the circuit which is triggering the alarm. An auto electrician has checked the Cooling system and all is within spec. Really want to code out the Automatic Transmission TCM to eliminate this as a cause. Just cant seem to get VCDS to communicate with the necessary modules. I'm pulling my hair out. What is left of it. The Auto Electrician is also stumped and is waiting for me to code out the TCM.

The ECU doesn't see or care about transmission temperature even with the original transmission in place.

If you've bridged the W & K lines and still have no comms to the ECU, check continuity between W at the immo box harness and the ECU's harness.

Of course I'm assuming the engine actually starts and runs with the Immo box installed?
