Rear brake caliper replacement

Hi guys - first post here :). I'm about to use VCDS for the first time during the replacement of the discs/pads/calipers on the rear of our Audi A4 B8. So long as I've got the battery on trickle charge is there any time limit on how long I can leave the calipers off the car? I'd like to paint the caliper support brackets while I'm at it and that will take several days.

No limit. Once you get them opened and removed, turn the car's ignition off. If all you have is a trickle charger, leave it connected.

Additional note - Stand near the rear wheels and you will hear the motor whirr for a few seconds - that is additional confirmation that the process has happened.

Be sure to make note of the paint colour code and temp rating so Caliper adaptations and basic settings can be completed post repair !
