Are you sure you're not conflating that with 1K0-907-379-AD ? That was indeed the very earliest MK60EC1 and has a very high failure rate. However, as previously stated, what you have is not an MK60EC1.

No. I have the 1K0 614 517 AD installed in my car. I am just trying to verify a suitable compatible replacement that would be newer production and hopefully more reliable than my 1K0 614 517 AD module. I have been unable to verify that there is a compatible currently available replacement. I was hopeful that the currently available 1K0 901K0 907 375 AJ module would work, but have been unable to verify this.

I am now considering one of the rebuild services. I have purchased a complete used 1K0 614 517 AD ABS unit including the pump. It's condition is unknown. I think I will send the unknown ABS unit in to:

For a rebuild. I'll let you guys know how it works out.

And thanks for all of your replies!

The part number I gave you is the latest and greatest for the car per vin.
I believe you are correct. I'm just not prepared to spend $3K on the new part. I have purchased a complete used 1K0 614 517 AD unit with the pump. I going am to send it into:

for testing and rebuild. Hopefully it works out? I'll let you guys know.

Thanks for all your replies!

Why would you send it overseas to get repaired when it can be repaired in the USA?

I purchased a used complete 1K0 614 517 AD assembly with the electronics module and the hydraulic pump. Being a used unit I have no idea of the condition of either part. The only place I found online that seems to be setup to evaluate both the pump and the module was the place overseas. they charge about the same as the stateside places that are only working on the electronics modules so I'm sending the used parts to them for evaluation and repair. hopefully then I will have a know good unit to install when I do the swap.

I do plan on sending my know defective electronics module to:

For repair after I do the swap. I'll then have spare electronics module if I ever need it as these parts will probably soon become NLA.

also I did check with my local dealer about the $3000 currently available 1K0-614-517-AD-BEF assembly. There is only one in the US. I suspect it my become NLA soon.
