Steer Angle -2.5°

IMHO, that is a default value for a failed G85. I've not seen official documentation stating that, but I've seen a lot of failed G85s stuck on -2.5°. And ABS coding is locked in when a proper G85 relearn is performed... so a bad G85 means ABS coding doesn't get locked in.

Thanks, it is a tough one when the scan on the steering module says NFF. Looks like I'll have to take it to the workshop for this one, probobably they'll want a grand to replace it, hmm might not be worth it....anyway I appreciate the support which is really great and I have to say the forum works well, again thanks.

That is the part number.... NIB it doesn't look to be a cheap part. :( Installing it isn't that bad of a job, remove driver's airbag, remove steering wheel, remote trim... swap out part.

You should also enter some WSC numbers in VCDS:

First:
[Options]
[User Interface and Identification]
write numbers for wsc, importer, device no.
For example 02345 223 23456
[Save]
[Close VCDS]
Start VCDS

I pulled the clock spring out, any way to test it? I have another and can swap them. Do you mean the steering or the ABS controller that I should try the WSC options?
The Audi shop ino...they seem to only want to do warranty work, I don't blame them as they for sure make more money.

I always thought that warranty work was paid at a lower hourly rate than customer funded work (often at a fixed total cost meaning the job had to be rushed) - at least that's what my cousins who have been motor mechanics have always told me!

Rather than small edited sections, please post an Auto-Scan which you have NOT edited as there seem to be issues with multiple modules

This is great progress, proceed to the procedure from post #18.

Remeber:
Immediately after the message that the coding is accepted, without ignition off, start engine and go to basic setting G85.

SOLVED ABS PROBLEM!

For everyone who helped or read my ABS Bosch 5.7 problem, it is now solved. The solution was a combination of all the information provided here on the Forum but also some info from Audizine. FYI I changed the angle sensor and the clock spring, cleaned the plug on the yaw sensor, checked the power to the ABS on the two separate power in pins (with both voltmeter and test lamp). FYI I read that making all the WSC codes the same accross all the controllers worked for someone, so I did that, I also read that after the ABS login and WSC code stage, do not start the car, leave the ignition on and the VCDS connected (to observe the steering angle) and before entering the G85 Login - rotate the steering wheel exactly one turn left and right (difficult) and then go into the G85 calibration with the login 40168, at this stage the angle sensor is still stuck on -2.5° and calibration is locked, but complete this stage as describe in the ROSS TECH procedure and it unlocks itself and the steering angle sensor starts reporting again, I left everything connected and took the car for a slow drive to perform the functional steering test, as requested I applied the brake to no avail, there was never a change in the cluster lighting but I performed the procedure anyway and bingo, all the lighs went off execept the ABS (orange), once home I switched everything off and then restarted the car - BINGO no lights at all - wonderful...

If you have such a problem like I did with coding the Bosch 5.7, keep reading and be open to all the experiences that others have had, every situation is different here at ROSS TECH the forum works and the support from various people is amazing, THANKYOU.
