Hi,
I've been gone for almost 10 years.

Computer died and way too many fishing boats to work on.
I have a new computer and want to get back plugged in with Ross-Tech
I'm working on a friends ALH engine - I just did the brakes and struts.
The car has been has been sitting for over 3 years . But the body is good.
New tires are on the way.
I'm into doing the timing belt and water pump this week.

My question
What do I have to do to load this computer?
Along with the new Lap Top I got a new email address but stlll use my old address on the home computers

best wishes
Hank

Just download the current VCDS software from the Ross-Tech website and you should be set to go with your old cable. If any problems I am sure the good Ross-Tech people can help

What do I have to do to load this computer?
When you install VCDS, make sure you tick the box to "Install USB Drivers for Legacy Interfaces" -- the one that's circled but is not yet ticked in this screen-shot.

Just a up date
I asked my son to buy me a cheap lap top to use just for VCDS.
It arrive, a small HP lap top I downloaded the program but when it was done I got a note on the screen saying this computer can not use this app. It had a different operating system than Windows

So looking on line for rebuilt used computers I found one with Windows 10 and it has been a joy to use.
Setting the diesel fuel pump was excellent. Now I'm into figuring the ABS.
Just a tip of my baseball cap for a fine gadget
cheers
Hank
