I'm new to VCDS and this frorum, and am slowly getting used to their possibilities.
I have a 2017 Skoda Superb iii estate (UK - kombi in other countries) and have been made aware that some people find hat the DRLs can turn yellow and dim, the reason being that the actual LED is driven hard, overheats and burns itself, damaging the end of the light tube it butts against in the process. The repair for this is reported to be very costly (around £1,000 for a headlight unit), or very cumbersome in dismatling of the sealed unit using heat...
To avoid this I would like to reduce the LED's intensity to, say, 70% of its factory setting so that it runs cooler.
Using VCDS I have looked at settings for the DRL (which is also sidelight, although theye use two different control units). I changed the DRL controller dimming from 127 (some digital/binary setting for 100%. down to 100 no change was apparent. Below 100 they just flickered and flashed. (the sidelight driver uses a more analogue setting of 0 - 100)
