I don't think San Francisco has every really had much problem with smog. That's down in Los Angeles.

Yep, that's what I had back then. But after that trip, I decided it was missing something: Two more cylinders. Not due to a lack of power, but just in terms of general refinement. So it got replaced with a Yamaha FJR:

Due to quarantine stir-craziness my wife has been doing cleaning/organizing and we dug out an old Canon S95 (with CHDK hack) and charged it up. My kids somehow have never used a real camera, only phones and tablets and whatnot. They LOVE it.

That's extraordinary for a phone camera, particularly an older one. All those settings were manual I take it? No external lens?

I didn't even wipe the fingerprints off the lens!

Direct sunlight and got lucky on focusing.
