Hello,

Last Friday (5 april 2024) i had a brand new Audi A4 etstate 8W (5 KM) , after connecting VCDS and made a gateway installation list, and saw all modules.

The only module i could connect was 19-gateway...

Unfortunaly i had no time to try to make a scan or any other info. Also it was a customer car, and is no longer available for testing.

(I have immideatly tried an other car (2019 VW Tiguan) which worked perfectly)

Is this a known problem?

Know issue is SFD2, which "hide" all controller except Gateway.

first of all you have to "open" SFD2" and then to deactivate diagnsotic filter in Gateway. After it you can read all controller.
But actually VCDS can't unlock SFD, it need some time.

Thank you... that explains.

We have a GRP/ Odis/ GEKO account, and i dit unlock SFD from the gateway. (had to switch off the transport mode), which worked perfectly with VCDS (SFD and transport modus). :)

Diagnostic filter is in adaptation?
SFD end SFD2 is the same?

Diagnostic filter is in adaptation?
That's my understanding. Unlock Gateway via SFD first, then turn off Diagnostic Filters in Adaptation.

I feel like rather than making another post this is probably the best place for my question as it dovetails into OP's situation as I'm in the same boat. I am admittedly green on VAG stuff but I know a thing or two about GM/FCA/Ford etc and a decent amount of that correlates to what I've seen so far.

That being said at this point I cant even get actual code data from a 2024, I see several adaptation options in the gateway that appear to be worded as if they may allow traffic to pass (If I'm able to unlock it) BUT I'm not sure exactly which one so I'm hoping one of you could tell me the EXACT adaptation to change to accomplish this or is it indeed IDE13756 (diagnosis filter)? Is there another option that will allow ALL traffic to pass?

Thank you!

It's rather difficult to answer that without knowing exactly what Gateway you have.

Understood I'll grab that info; thank you. I incorrectly assumed there was commonality for 2024 UNECE applications.

@Uwe Any thoughts on the above and should I move to 24.6.0 Beta for this application?

It doesn't cost much to try, does it? ;)

No sir! I meant more of the question as to which specific Adaptation to flip for diagnostic traffic to pass :) But I guess as long as I can eventually read all of the default configs I can throw a little bit of caution to the wind :D

I think it might be this one:
IDE16611 -- Diagnosis filter: temporary deactivation

But I don't personally have a car with this nonsense, and I doubt I ever will. The Eurocrats and VW have stepped over the line with this stuff as far as I'm concerned. I refuse to drive a car that requires the manufacturer's permission in real-time to read fault codes.

They are, but need to be in the right place; you're not asking for product support, and at this point, the OP's issue is well understood.
