Could someone please explain how I can get a better understand of an ROD Error, how I understand, the version of VCDS I am using has no data for that module. The car was brought to me with a EGR fault, with a couple of error including 7343 - ROD - Unknown Error Code. Upon investigation the vacuum pipe was so contaminated in oil, it had swollen to the point it would no longer stay on the EGR valve. I also noticed that when I removed the vacuum unit to check for debris, the flap was solid with carbon.
I Refitted the vacuum unit, reconnected the pipe, clear all the codes and it seem fine for about a week, no codes. They opted to fit a new EGR unit which I have done but now I am being presented with permeant 7343 - ROD - Unknown Error Code and It won’t clear.
The 7393 - EGR System - P0400 00 [00100111] – Malfunction has now cleared.
I take it 7343 mean EGR, other references point to EGR Sensor 2, but I didn’t this car was fitted with a sensor 2.
Any help would be greatly received
