Quality work.

I once had a home-based Dialysis patient who had water alarms on their system... so they replaced the filter - didn't fix it (it was worse in fact!).

After driving quite a distance to get there, I removed the filter cartridge, took the plastic wrapping off and re-installed it....

I'm struggling to find it, but I remember watching a video relatively recently of a mechanic who was working on a blown motor. Turns out the owner didn't remove the plastic wrap from their oil filter before they installed it. The threads cut the plastic, the oil carried some of it into the oil passages, and it blocked a critical passage to lubricate the camshaft. They found it when disassembling the motor to figure out everything that was broken.

Sometimes stupid can be profitable. Most of the time it's just extremely frustrating to deal with. This one was both.

In defence of the customer those batteries are a right pain to open properly. 🤣
