You can't do codings in this car as it is protected by SFD2 (PR-NI8). No codings possible in this car
Odis was able to unlock SFD for 89 minutes allowing us to enter the module and change the coding without crashing with VCDS. Now it just asks for an access security code like most of the previous models need.

20103 did not work when we tried it after the SFD was unlocked. it just rejects it as if you put in the wrong code
So after it was unlocked and tried to do the recoding. the module told us it needs a security access. No biggie usually but the normal codes we tried did not work.

As far as I know there's no "message" for locked SFD / SFD2 controller, so VCDS only "see" it's locked, but not why.

I do not. The team is still working on regular SFD access. When we get past that hurdle SFD2 testing can begin since they are starting to arrive in the US market.

@chillybone, we are not in a position to say when we will have any SFD coverage since VAG is the gate keeper and we must work at their pace despite paying them a whopping load of green. Trust me, if RT personnel could make it all go, it would have been available by now. But we get the privilege of paying a huge sum for glacial action.

At the risk of sounding a bit too simplistic, why not just unplug the darn thing? No SFD 1, 2, or 3 access required.

That's certainly worth trying, but it will for sure set fault codes. The question in a such a modern car is: How far into other systems will they cascade?

Right, I considered that suggestion early on but didn't share it because that would create a pile of DTCs and knowing VW/Audi ... the vehicle may go into limp mode resulting in limited engine RPM, vehicle speed among other things.
If the guys want to revisit this J223 appears to receive power from a 20A fuse in position SH7. I believe that's the Black row (of 12 possible fuses) closest to the left side of the panel at the floor in the boot.
