Is there a specific procedure to follow when resetting the DSG adaptions on the GTI and R.

Hi,

There are no faults present. I do tuning for Burger Motorsport and we have had a few 7 R's that shudder. Some can go to the dealer for reset but it would help if I knew the VCDS procedure.

Uwe: I'm always ecstatic when I hear about RT's developments for the mk7 (purely and unashamedly for self serving reasons)! Will the calibration procedure that you mention above extend generally to the DQ200 series transmissions, or do you anticipate that it will apply solely to the DQ250 box?

Of topic.
I do not think shuddering will go away with adaptation.
You need to tune DGS, Shuddering /hard shift comes when Torque limit in DSG vs ECU is pass.
Same thing with TDI when you tune them.

Anyway if you think this will go away let customer drive 500-700miles and transmission will adopt it self.

We are looking into that procedure. Does your vehicle have any functionality issues or fault codes? Either way, posting the Auto-Scan from it couldn't hurt.

I am trying to avoid a DSG flash, with light acceleration the transmission shifts smoothly. With aggressive acceleration it shutters during shifts in full automatic. If in manual mode with aggressive acceleration it shifts like it should without a shutter.

I did find my problem, channel 02:Auto Trans had a few fault codes that needed cleared, cleared the fault codes, and everything returned to normal.

I'm bumping this back up from the dead. As of our latest Beta 16 series it should be possible to run Basic Settings on the 09D / DQ250 transmission. If the a Beta version is not available using the above link in the future simply download the latest Release instead.

Because the actual procedure has not been thoroughly tested we would prefer registered users to contact us directly via email. After sending the complete Auto-Scan with the vehicle repair history in addition to any vehicle functionality concerns directly to Support we will pass along the procedure on a case by case basis to receive feedback. When the procedure is confirmed we will post it openly online, most likely in this thread initially and moved to a Wiki page after it is bug free.

I have an update. We were able to test this on a 2015 A3 convertible with Engine Code CNTC and Transmission Code QSN :

Prerequisites:
Transmission fluid temperature between 30°C - 100°C confirmed using Advanced Measuring Values:
** IDE00102 Control Module temperature
** IDE00024 Transmission fluid temperature

Parking brake and foot brake applied during the entire procedure. This can be confirmed using Advanced Measuring Values:

- During the basic setting procedure, there may be some loud gear shifting noises from the transmission, this is normal.

Basic settings may not complete successfully if:
- The fluid temperature gets too hot.
- Brake is released
- Engine RPM is increased

Once complete, there should be an indication of this in the [Status of Basic Settings] Advanced Measuring Value group and Basic Settings should report Finished Correctly..

[Done, Go Back] and Check for fault codes. If you have several Intermittent fault codes stored please [Save] them before clearing so the text can be pasted here with any feedback you happen to have.

The IDE numbers in the above procedure may need to be revised due to the recent VCDS dataset revisions but the text descriptions should be identical. Based on my personal experience I would consider this Basic Setting procedure successful but there are a number of additional Basic Setting groups that need to be tested.

Hi Don,

I created this 6-Speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG/0D9) page back on the 2nd of Nov. but I wasn't real proud of it :) It links to this thread instead of being an informative fact-packed page.

Your suggestion is great and I went ahead and made that live (linked) from the VW Golf VII (5G/AU) page. I'll drop a link on the Audi A3/S3 (8V/FF) chassis page also.

I'd like to add that I did this last night and the transmission is running smoother this morning after some adaptation.
Note that once reset, there will be a bunch of intermittent codes (like stated above) that while reset-able, will reappear (in my case) until the DSG transmission has been driven for some miles.

Background is:
'17 MK7R DSG, 1800 miles
Installed JB1 @ 5.0 for 4 days. Had a slight hint at slip (4th) followed by harsh shifting (all around).
Took off JB1, RESET DSG per above. I haven't checked DSG Fluid level, but car feels right again.
I think I'll drive stock for a while.

I have the same problem with the JB1 and it was not fixed by doing adaptation and my DSG Oil level is fine. (Does not slip with the JB1 disabled)

Have you tried with the JB1 again after the adaption?

Hi.
Mine was a hint at a slip followed by a hard clamp. More like the DSG was over powered by the extra boost and the DSG either adjusted its pressure or I just got lucky. I've heard it can monitor slip and adjust if more pressure is needed.

In any case, mine was not like what you show.

The JB1 guys said it is normal for it to slip a little in 3rd and 4th for 200+400rpms. I don't think it is nor should it be considered normal.

I have since put the JB1 back on but at 4.8 this time. I've had no slip since.

JB1 will stay on until 5000 miles when I plan to sell it and flash UM ECU+TCU.

I plan to keep the car for a while so if it ever slips. I will flash back to stock if needed.
