I am using basic settings to look at low pressure EGR related values on 2009-2014 TDIs. (point is to see if there is a reliable predictor of the P0401 error from cracked DPF, where a sooty tailpipe could be an indicator of future failure)

any observations welcome to the other post.

my primary question here is if there is a way for VCDS to save values during operation of a basic settings test.

(other than taking a photo of the screen, or using Windows alt-prtscn to copy a .bmp and then save to word or other program)

I tried to log, then start on/off/next, but it seems to kick out of saving the log.

could it be possible to add a utility button to record single sample values during the basic setting operation?

OK I figured out you can start the log while the basic settings program on the ECU is executing.
