At 3am on a 45F degree nite, the computer in my 2015 gas model S flashed a warning "RISK" message that extinguished before I put my reading glasses on.
Questions (haven't jacked up the car yet): Is there only one heater control pump in a 2015 VW 1.8 gas, model S?
Does this pump warm the heater core more rapidly to provide passenger heat? Is that its only purpose?
Does the pump connector include +, -, and PWM signal? Three leads? Mitchell Wiring doesn't include this.
If there is only 1 pump, and it's only purpose is to warm the heater core rapidly, I may not fix it because I live in a warm climate. Nevertheless, I plan to check the circuit with a voltmeter and look for ground faults or shorts.
Please ignore the "15048 - Coolant Fan Control Circuit 1 error". The coolant fan operates via an external signal generator that provides a 50% duty cycle, 100hz PWM signal. Engine temp remains precisely at 210 degrees.
Comments welcome.
