Hi all
i can disable the stop start system on my vw caddy van 2012 Vw T5 but you still have to dip the clutch to start the vehicle , is there away on the vcds software to
disable the Stop start system so you don't have to dip the clutch pedal, as i know you can do the initial stop start disable several ways, but not sure about if any of these options selects so you dont have to dip the clutch pedal so rather that keep trying or long coding i thought i would ask if possible to do it ,, i would rather do it with the software than mechanically/electrically at the switch.
here is a T5 log file before you ask for a file from me.

you still have to dip the clutch to start the vehicle , is there away on the vcds software to disable the Stop start system so you don't have to dip the clutch pedal
Having to press the clutch pedal to start the engine predates stop/start by many many years - it was introduced in the wake of some unintended vehicle moving when starting, so it's not related to stop/start and I very much doubt there is any way to disable it.

Tipping clutch isn't a start/stop feature. This was a nice idea to prevent car to jump during start as people forget to tick cluth with gear.

There is a cable between Clutch cylinder and bcm.

Remove it from Clutch cylinder and Connect it to permanent ground.

Yes this is why i said rather do it by software if possible , i have by passed call it the switch on other manufactures when doing test, with no problems.

... and hope you never try to start the vehicle whilst it's in gear whithout pressing the clutch.
Maybe i'm old school , we didn't always have the clutch switch on vehicles & managed it is all part of driving,, like sheep all the manufactures copy and more wear and tear on components .

Never say never..........when you or a family member launches the car through the garage wall or another parked car (perhaps because your other vehicles are automatics), be sure to come back to the forum and let us know how that too is "all part of driving".

Start / Stop is one thing, not wanting to depress the clutch before starting engine is quite another matter!

Back when practically "everything" was a manual trans. , your point/request is well taken but now with automatic transmissions being the norm, your looking for a accident waiting to happen.

Ive been driving since the 80's and no problems driving is driving, i find this stop a pain as wear and tear mainly , driven manual transmission pretty much all that time, what about motorcycles there you go, no stop start and you don't want any jerking on them but if one manufacture does introduce it they all will

I've be driving since the 1970's mostly manual transmissions...

You still seem to be thinking that pressing the clutch to start is related to stop/start - as has already been said it's not related in any way to stop/start, it's an additional safety feature. If you want to disable that additional safety feature then go ahead at your own risk, but it's not something most of us would advise.

I'm not as old as you folks... but my first few cars were manual and did not require pressing the clutch to start. I was taught to press the clutch the start. I remember having a split second of panic one time as I cranked the car without my foot on the clutch... luckily I had remembered the other thing I was taught which was to confirm I was in neutral. But now my manuals will not start without the clutch pressed, and that's a good thing... and I still make sure I'm in neutral :p.

FWIW, the clutch/starter interlock thing has been mandatory here in the USA for a very long time. I think (but I'm not 100% certain) that all my VWs, going all the way back to the first 1977 Mk.1 have had this. I'm positive my Mk.3 had it.
My impression is it wasn't standard (or mandatory?) in Europe until much later.

Now when I first learned to drive a manual the vehicle in question did not have it, and in fact, I was taught that if the engine ever quit and the vehicle was stuck in a dangerous spot (like in the middle of the road), it was possible to move it off the road onto the shoulder using the starter motor alone. Obviously, the interlock would prevent that.

Iam not sure it's mandatory in Europe, but VAG started to use it since Golf MK6 Plattform in nearly all cars in Europe

My B7 Audi RS4 had it back in 2006 which is earlier than the Golf Mk6.

Well than there was some cars ealier I never recognize. But since Golf MK6 (PQ36 Platform) all cars for sure use it. Older Model depend on Equipment I think. Maybe RS4 and other Performance Models use this as security feature earlier

Checked WD, clutch position sensor is wired to ECU, not BCM.

I think it's a bad idea to try this physical mod. The engine ECU uses the clutch position signal for fuel cut when shifting gears.
