I'm afraid I already know the answer but just in case I'm wrong, I thought I would ask. Is there any way to enable my rear view camera when not in reverse? I hauled 25 retaining wall blocks home on my trailer saturday, and being a low, small trailer, I can't even see it when I pull it. At stop lights I would put it in reverse to check to make sure it was still there and the nearly impossible to properly secure load was ok. Would have been really nice if there was a way to turn the camera on while driving and the passenger could keep an eye on things.

I doubt it. I suspect it is a purely a function of the firmware and not coding or adaptation that controls the radio/navi display to toggle over to back up camera feed only when in reverse. Some of the newer vehicles will display the back up camera for a bit once out of reverse, but I suspect that is the firmware doing this.

I'm not aware of any VW/Audi doing this, even with a trailer module. I'd see if Seb chimes in here with good news and educates me.... but again, I doubt it. :(

Thank you.

It appears that you were exceeding your tongue weight by a large amount.

Not judgingyou by any stretch of the imagination, it only appears to be so.

Hopefully, you will not do this again............It is unsafe for you and others around you.

Perhaps I am misunderstanding your post. If so, I sincerely apologize.

I appreciate the concern, honestly. 25 Blocks (roughly 600 pounds) spread across the base of the trailer so I was nowhere near the 200 pound tongue limit. It was nearly impossible to secure because the trailer has no back and low sides. It's the small 4x6 sold at TSC. Nice trailer and pulls well.
