Can't Search When Logged in

I feel incredibly stupid right now, and the answer is (hopefully) extremely obvious, but the "search" magnifying glass disappears in the upper right corner when I log in. This happens on mobile and my laptop. What am I missing?

Looks like a permissions issue with the usergroup you got put in when you joined the forum.
