Once again I am having fits with my vcds, Have it connected to the car 2007 Beetle code 1Y, and it will not read anything. It will do a scan, only codes are airbag which I knew. I replaced the clockspring and am trying to time the steering wheel and it will not connect. I am sure that I am missing something as I am not very familiar with the program but damned if I can figure out what.

Once I do finally get it together hopefully I will be able to cancel the codes to get it out of my garage and give it back to my granddaughter.

Do you have the ingnition switch set to KEYON - Engine off? The key must be on to power the modules.

If you go to Options [Test], what does VCDS report?

Sorry for the slow response this is 4 cars down and the least important on my to do list
The test screen says:
Vcds release 23.3.1:port test
Interface: found
Type HEX V2
Version:
CB: 0.4631.4
FW:P 0.256
Status: ready
Can: OK, K1: OK k2: OK
VBAT: 12.39V VLGN: 0.02V
Vin(s) used: 1/3

This is exactly what I copied off of the test screen. And just to verify I tried to open the steering wheel and got an error message No response from controller. And it does not populate the vehicle information but doing a full scan it does.

If you've done a full scan, please post it. You'll find it in your Scans sub-folder. Open it with Notepad and copy & paste the contents here.
