Hi all,
guess this is my first thread here in this forum. I live in Germany, have a Q7, built in 2006, 8 zylinder gasoline engine.
Aplogies if my English is not the best....
I tried to do a training here in Germany for the VCDS, but they rescheduled a couple of times, eventually I got my money back. I own VCDS for a long time, hlped me so solve a lot of problems, but....
My cars problem: The air suspension is always at maximum height, no chance to fix that.
I am not familiar with the VCDS expressions, so please keep calm.
With VDCS (latest software update, of course) I can connect to the air suspension controller, but generally that's it.
Controller said my car is at about 195mm height at each side (which is smaller than the tire radius), indeed it was 540 / 580 mm. I have access to the actuator testing, which works from a software point of view (no errors) but the car is not willing to come down or react in some way.
I tried a "basic setting", and here is where my problem starts. There's a second button with "Adaption" (all translated from German). And I don't know which one to use.
With the 5 digit code I do have access to "basic setting", but I don't see the possibility here to set the real heigth of the car for each wheel.
There's a different code given in the software for "Adaption", but this code does not work, I can't get access to this section. (Tried it about 50 times over a longer period of time)
What I did so far, because I had some more problems with the air suspension before:
Replaced the compressor some time ago, and also the little valves for the rest pressure. Since then, everything worked fine for a year or two, when the car finally started to get to maximum height. So I replaced the control valve unit, which did not help at all. All replaced parts have been brandnew.
A car work shop in town could not help either, they had the same problem: No access to the "Adaption" section.
Today I unplugged the controller, had the hope to do a kind or reset, but that did not help as well.
Is this a faulty controller? I can't affort a new one, does it matter which version I buy? My one is a "B" version, I found some on Ebay with "C" or "F". Would they also work? Would this be a good or a bad idea to buy a newer one?
I tried to get help in the German Forum called MotorTalk, those guys couldn't help at all.
Does someone have, or can guide me to, a step by step manual how to do the basic setting / adaption? Or any other idea? Can't drive my car since months.... Obviously IT IS rocket sience.
BTW, the hood and the car door were closed, ignition on, motor runnig.
Thanks in advance,
Ansgar
