I keep getting errors in relation to workshop identification values not correct when trying to access a retrofit tpms module I installed. Module 65


I am trying to write some adaption values (sensor ids)

I have tried 12345/123/123456 44444/444/444444 etc and loads of combinations from these forums but no luck. Is this a vcds issue or the module I am trying to access

Interesting, because this module doesn't report a WSC, Importer, or Equipment number in the scan.

A search for other scans with with this TPMS part number indicates that's not unusual. Dataset Number: "xiaozhihui" sure is!

It's likely a Chinese clone there is a lot of them for this retrofit to be honest so you probably seen lots of these for tpms to be honest. They are very common as they are 1/5th the price of oem.

I'm not sure what's up here.

However, I am sure you can't do any coding because the module doesn't support coding. That said, neither do any of the other ones I've found in scans, so that's not a surprise.

@Dana has a car with the same 4M0-907-273-B TPMS (factory installed). Maybe she can take a look.

Hmm, I've never directed anyone to those adaptation channels. My factory condition 65-Tire Pressure maps are here:

The only thing I had to do at the 5,000 mile mark after a tire rotate was reset the TPMS via the MIB menu followed by a drive. The wheel ID positions moved as expected and the specified values changed to the actual pressure.​

Rotating wheels/sensors that were already learned is different than matching 4 entirely new sensors to a TPMS module. Driving it would be a normal requirement after a tire rotation but the old-school manual method summary to learn new sensors would have been:

1) Hood open, battery charger connected and ignition on.
2) Wake all 4 sensors by deflating and rapidly reinflating air (or by using a point and shoot TPMS tool).
3) Resetting TPMS through the MIB.
4) Waiting to see if any of the senor IDs show up in the Advanced Measuring fields such as: IDE03529-IDE03525-Last received tire pressure sensor in reception range-Sensor identification number (sensor ID)

I would try that if you haven't already.

If that fails we can dig deeper to see if we can locate sensor replacement steps and/or feedback but I suspect this is a control module side problem (perhaps missing prerequisites) rather than a VCDS problem.

Can you just confirm how you reset tpms through the mib. I actually only have function to... "store values"... What should it look like maybe I am not doing that aspect correctly?

In the measuring fields i do see the new sensor ids in range. They are just not adapting automatically as the actual sensor ids. Instead i have 4 random sensor ids written to the memory that I can't erase or write over because the module has no wsc values (another issue I have)

My MIB3 system may have slightly different menus but I'll grab some photos of the options the next time I'm at it.

In regards to any steps with VCDS, I would try saving non-zero options to the main Program Options > User Interface and Identification tab followed by Save and restarting VCDS to see if that changes the results. Also, have you tried firstly selecting the wheel and saving that channel followed immediately by the serial number channels yet? I do not know if that's the correct series of events but the controller may need to firstly know which wheel is going to be entered before it accepts the serial number.

Dana -> god knows why! but i can now start saving sensor id's!! i think save and exiting did the trick..... how ever it's absolutely impossible to get 4 of them stored

This is going to get a bit confusing to explain but i will try my best

All this is on adaption 65
So i got to sensor id - Setting it 0 clears alllll the senor id's - great! that's what i want - start from scratch

(anything in italic is actual values, anything in bold is vcds adaption i am changing)

So I set the wheel position set to 1

Then i go to

Sensor Id =<SensorID1>

And now on values/measured

sensor1 id now = <sensor1ID> - So far so good....



Then i hit wheel position - set to 2

I check the values again....- and now sensor2 = <Sensor1ID>, and Sensor1ID = 1


So then i think, i will set the sensorID first - and then select the wheel position - again same issue it just seems to bring the sensor id with you everytime its so difficult to program.


It's really hard to explain but you probably get what i am on about here - it's just impossible to set more than 1 sensor id as it just moves around the sensor id's with you on vcds
It's a really strange sequence of events you need to do that i cant get my head around, that being said i am making progress - now I've cleared out the old sensor id's i dont get 4 fault codes stating that my sensors are broken, now i just get 1 after 15 minutes which i assume is because one of my sensors is dead and it cant seem to learn them, i did manage to set one sensor id fully, but no reading came on the dash but i was seeing readings on the measures


Sensor1 = AN id
Sensor1 pressure = 2.4bar
Sensor1 temp = 99F
sensor1 position = front left


Once i get the new sensor as one of them is duff i will see what happens anyway

Thanks for the update! Although unlikely to be of direct assistance at this point I'll pop out and take a few MIB photos tonight.

On a different note, did you have to reconfigure 5F differently after disabling 03-ABS brake based Indirect TPMS -and- enabling direct TPMS using address 65? I have zero experience in this area but if those are two different coding or adaptation settings in address 5F the MIB menu may not be sending the command properly? I'm out of my comfort zone on this but I can move it to Retrofits so you get views from a larger group of users.
