The last few times we drove the car the airbag, ABS, and parking brake fault icons appeared all at the same time.
An autoscan reveals DTCs relevant to those faults as well as DTC 02072, intermittent. I wonder if the fault in J644 is making other modules squawk. 02072 is not on the VCDS DTC list and a general search did not offer much help for this specific issue. Autoscan archives going back to 2016, when we purchased the car, show J644 to be free of faults until early 2023.
Also, a scan of this module indicates a mileage stamp of 0 and a date of more than 2 months into the future. What's up with that?
If I remember correctly, the previous owner said he had just replaced the battery (OEM Varta). In spite of its age of at least 7 years it seems to be in very good condition, showing 12.9v after resting overnight, in car, not on the bench. It aces a load test as well and we have never experienced any battery related issues. It has never been jump started under our ownership.
