I have successfully downloaded the 3 BLE .clb files and when I look at 01-Engine I and 11-Engine II MVB's, the .clb file is displayed correctly in the top left corner of the screen and the labels and balloons are displayed correctly in german for each group.....so far so good.

My problem is - when I look at 31 Engine Other, the Open Controller screen is not populated at all and "Coding II - 11" button is not enabled.

1. Is 070-906-016-BLE3.clb the label file for 31 Engine Other - If Yes, how do I fix it

If I need the Security Access code - What is it

Also, does anyone know how to edit a clb file. I will convert the german files into english and share the results on the forum if I can edit these files

What exactly are you trying to do at address 31? That's a not really a control module. That's VCDS talking to both ECUs at the same time.

I recently had a DPF error but resolved it by performing the drive at 1800 - 2500 rpm in 4th or 5th gear for approx 15 mins.

Are you saying (for example) the values in 31 group 67 fields 1-4 are the same as address 01 group 67 fields 1-4 and the values in 31 group 67 fields 5-8 the same as address 11 group 67 fields 5-8.

Also, you didn't answer my question " Is 070-906-016-BLE3.clb the label file for 31 Engine Other - If Yes, how do I fix it"

I meant - Are you saying (for example) the values in 31 group 67 fields 1-4 are the same as address 01 group 67 fields 1-4 and the values in 31 group 67 fields 5-8 the same as address 11 group 67 fields 1-4.

As you can see from the image above, the labels for address 31 are almost useless. Where a label says "Temperature", unless you know what it is the temperature of, it is meaingless.

I want the same level of label descriptions in 31 as there is in 01 and 11.

Yes, when you read a measuring block group at address 31, the top line will be from that group in ECU 1 (address 01) and the second line is from the same group in ECU 2 (address 11).

I'm not sure why that's not happening. It may be difficult for us to reproduce as we do not have a V10 TDI or even a set of ECUs from one.

Thanks Uwe, I have created an english .lbl file for 01 and 11 using VAG Number 070-906-016-DP. I put the file in the User directory and this works ok.

VCDS uses the same label file for both 01 and 11.

If you can you tell me the VAG Number (file name) I need for a .lbl file for 31, I will create an english version.

Happy to share the results when finished.

When Adresss 31 is being used, 070-906-016-DP re-directs to 070-906-016-BLE3.CLB.

So I think you'll need a custom re-direct file as well, named 07-31.LBL, in which case you can put something like this in there:

REDIRECT,070-906-016-BLE3.LBL,070-906-016-DP

Not sure I agree with your reply above but happy to be corrected.

When VCDS creates a pre-label file for 01 and 11, the file name has the VAG Number embedded in it
For example -

01-070-906-016-DP_WVGZZZ7LZ8D048759-20230316-1145.PLB
11-070-906-016-DP_WVGZZZ7LZ8D048759-20230316-1146.PLB

When I create 070-906-016-DP.lbl and put it in the Ross-Tech/VCDS/Label/User directory, the following rule is applied
"VCDS will look for label files in the Label/User folder before looking in the main LABELS folder."

No redirection is performed if a file is found in the User directory - it just uses that file.

However, when VCDS creates a pre-label file for 31 the file name has NO VAG number
For example
31-_WVGZZZ7LZ8D048759-20230316-1114.PLB

Also, in the VCDS 31 Open Controller screenshot above, you can see there is no VAG Number.

So, I am making a couple of assumptions -
1. VCDS will use my 070-906-016-BLE3.lbl file if it is in the Label/User directory.

2. Since 01 and 11 MVB's have the following format

001,0,Group Title
001,1,Label 1
001,2,Label 2
001,3,Label 3
001,4,Label 4

011,0,Group Title
011,1,Label 1
011,2,Label 2
011,3,Label 3
011,4,Label 4

then 31 format will be

I would need a debug 1024 to see what is happening. Normally you would have the first ECU part number/component in the usual place and the second ECU in the extra field:

Then (without exiting VCDS!) access address 31 in your vehicle. Getting to the Open Controller screen is probably enough, but it couldn't hurt to look at a Measuring Block for a second or three. Then close things down gracefully. Afterward, look in your Debug sub-folder. You should find a file there named DEBUG31.DLM. E-mail that file to Support@Ross-Tech.com

So the dual-ECU W12-6L at the office worked fine, however once I simulated the delays seen in your debug, the problem appeared. We now have a fix in source and you should expect to see the part number(s) at address 31 in the next beta.
