Oddities in experimental LBLs

Why do VCDS show settings where you must insert a number so strange, so that it's nearly useless.

Here is 1 example of many, how ODIS and how VCDS shows it.

Why is there no field to insert a number like in ODIS, if there is no description for the different settings/values ? This would be much better than always showing "!! None found".

Why do LCode show sometimes "Bit 0" for a pulldown menue which i can activate and not for example "Bit 0-3" (seems like the problem only occurs if pd-menue is line 1 and there is a second one)

I am not an RT employe, but example Byte 5:
There are no exp data available to show (like the other examples), and the value 08 is showed, just as odis show that.
That is what I/we define in made label files, if it is known.
Yes not showing the text Bit 0-3 on line is maybe a bug in lcode, but it shows the pulldown as is should!

I know that there is no exp data to show, but can LCode not show the Hex-value of the bit-range (here bit 0-3) in a field like ODIS, if there is no exp data?
LCode show the value of bit 0-7 in the hex-field and "None found", but i think this is not so helpfull in such cases.

Maybe LCode can show it more like this (don't worry i only modified the screenshot not LCode)

What's wrong with using the non-experimental coding chart? Based on a brief check, all your cases should be covered there.

I think you understand me wrong, i don't know if there is something wrong with your "non-experimental coding charts", this is not my request.
I only like to use also the so called "experimental coding chart", because it uses the asam data from the modules and so it may sometimes fit better, for different module (sw) variants.
My question is, if it's on the "RT to do list" to display this information more concrete/correct like in ODIS or not?

Ideally we want people not to use the experimental coding at all, otherwise we could could stop our efforts which go into curating our control module documentation. So while I see your point, that the experimental data ought to be on par with ODIS, our primary concern must be the curated data.

nice done with the number behind the pull-down menu.

I do some testing with the new 2.0.21 in #5F and found some small glitches:
1. if there is exp data it only shows line one of the pull-down menu (for example "no brand"), even if another ("brand,Seat") is coded.
2. if i make another selection in the pull-down menu, it still displays the first line of the menu (but the bit setting is OK)
3. if i open the pull-down menu and close it, without making a new selection it sets the Bits to 00 (zero)
4. it shows a blank line after every menu point in the pull-down menu, but only the first pull-down menu for a byte, the 2nd, 3rd etc is ok.

very nice done, you fixed the glitches i found.

I do some testing with the new version and found some new/other small glitches, maybe you can/will fix it.

1. if i open a pull-down menu w/o exp data and close it without making anything, it sets the Bits to 00

2. In the gateway (#19) i get this error for byte 6,7,18,22 (this error seems to be new in the last version and only for the gateway and only if pull-down menu w/o exp data?)

Seems like you fixed the most glitches, but i still found one

If i click (open&close) here the pull down menu 1 or 2, always the hex value of the 2nd menu will be set to zero (in both cases)
