Please include the following critically important control unit parameter/dataset information in the autoscan logs by default:

Advanced Identification:
Misc.
Equipment/PR Code: 000000000000000000000014
Dataset Number: 4G9909510E
Dataset Version: 0006

When e.g. changing control units or doing retrofits, this information is vital and would greatly increase the value of VCDS autoscans.

This should be a simple change that can be implemented in the upcoming VCDS software update.

If it is possible to implement, it would be also useful if the scan could show "Dataset Number: N/A" or just omit the lines for those control units that don't utilize parameters at all (e.g. control units that use the .sgo flash file type/KWP2000 protocol) and "Dataset Number: Dataset Missing!" if the control unit is currently missing parameters (which causes a DTC such as "No end-of-line programming" or "Data Set Implausible").

(As of now parameter information is not included either in the "Controller Channel Map" scan under VCDS Applications.)

Thank you!

I'm very glad to see you have implemented this and the latest VCDS shows "Dataset Number: 4G9909510E 0006" in the scan !

However, the parameter information is not complete unless the "Equipment/PR Code: 000000000000000000000014" data is included as well.
All three components of the parameter information must be present to verify you have 100% correct parameter in your control module.

This is because options (=Equipment/PR codes) of the car affect the contents of parameter files.

For example the above B&O audio dataset, PR such as body style (avant vs sedan) and sunroof slightly affect the audio parameter and if you don't have the 100% correct parameter file with the right Equipment/PR code, your sound will not be optimal, and what's worse in many cases you will not get the "Data Set Implausible/Invalid Data Set" DTC to be aware of the problem.

The Equipment/PR Code is always 24 digits (12 bytes as 2-digit hex number) but you may choose to omit the leading zeros to make the autoscan file more compact, e.g.:
Dataset: 4G9909510E Version: 0006 PR: 14
