Difference between NTA and PRU Transmissions?

HI all, I recently bought a 2015 Audi A4 at auction with a seized CPMB engine. (The Keeper).

I bought it because I have a complete 2013 A4 with a CPMA engine that was rear-ended and the trunk area burned from the car that hit it catching on fire. (The Donor)

So our plan was to swap engines. But due to the difficulty accessing everything we plan on swapping the entire subframe. Plus, we find this is generally faster.

The subframe swap will give us the engine, transmission and steering rack.

The issue we have is the Donor transmission is an NTA, and the Keeper transmission is a PRU, both have the same PR NUmber of "G1G 8-speed automatic transmission for four-wheel drive" but I can't find information on the specific differences between the two. Can anyone help?

And I have no comparison (on paper) of the steering racks. But we can compare any numbers on the parts when we get a chance.

We were not able to get a VCDS scan of the donor due to all the power electronics having burned up. We even tried cutting into the harness and hot wiring the front of the car, but we were not able to get the electronics to come on (there's a lot of modules in the trunk of these things)

I do have a VCDS scan of the Keeper, it is below.

FWIW:

• We have the complete Donor drivetrain on the subframe on a pallet with the complete wiring harness and ECU
• I have a full shop with an infloor lift and a bridge crane, been doing car work for over 40 years
• My son is a Ford Master Tech
• We own several other Audi / VW products we also work on
• So we're not first-timers at this 8-)

So, my questions:

1. What is the different between NTA and PRU (I'm kinda really concerned about the axle ratio, I can't find that anywhere)
2. Any potential issues with the steering racks?

@Crasher @siLc Do you have a recommended source to buy the software? I can't seem to find a source I'm comfortable with. It seems a lot of folks resell this perhaps? Eurocartool.com wants to connect with Teamviewer. That's a but over the top for me as far as software install and cyber security are concerned.

It is all a bit dodgy, it is stolen software after all but there is no way I would let someone who sells stolen software Team Viwer into my PC! I tried one from the land of everything illegally copied and ripped off as a hard drive which I quarantined on a spare lap top and to my surprise it contained a number of Trojans and other stuff that Norton freaked out over and after cleaning, it would not work, cheap spare 30G external drive though which was clean after a deeeeep format. I found one on fleaBay before it was taken down and bought a Mega download link, that was clean and worked but VW is all in German and, no worry for you, later Skoda info missing and Seat wiring diagrams corrupted so erWin still gets a lot of money from us.
