I am trying to replace both my high pressure fuel pumps and the installation instructions say to reduce the fuel rail pressure before opening. I try to run the IDE01564-pressure reduction in rail, and i get the error aborted safety reasons - malfunction. I tried pressing the brake before I hit GO and that didn't work. Help...

HI, use a couple of rags and place it under the stainless steel couplers at the HPF pumps ; use a flair nut wrench and crack open (a turn or two) until you hear a hiss sound and fuel sprays out onto the rags - you may need to also cover over the area with a rag while simultaneously loosening the nut . It will stop relieving the pressure in a short period of time, then you can proceed with your project. Also, wear safety glasses and engine should be cold.
