I just bought locally what I now realise must be a cloned / fake interface. Are all Hex V2s with a 000000 serial number fakes?

You need to report the seller, if you bought online then to the website operator otherwise to your local Trading Standards.

If you paid using a credit card then claim a refund from your card provider.
