Resolved Audi Q5 3.2 Simos 8.2 ECM reading baro pressure incorrectly, check engine light P0106

Need some thoughts, input from any who have been down this road-
Current ecm in vehicle is reading ambient pressure at ~90 kPa, while the manifold pressure sensor is reading static atmospheric pressure correctly at ~99kPa. I have purchased a used replacement ecm that is reading atmospheric pressure correctly. I had the closest dealer attempt to marry new used ecm to vehicle unsuccessfully. $300. later -Tech could not, or is incapable or unwilling to program used ecm to vehicle using the odis system. Service stated "we were able to communicate with the used ecm, however odis was requiring the recoding of 14 additional modules. A new blank ecm would need to be ordered and programmed to the car. Estimate for the repair $3500. ECM on backorder."

At this point I have plan b and c in mind, but would like and need input from any immobilizer experts as to how you would approach same situation, or did to program a used simos Immobilizer 5(?) ecm to an Audi vehicle. Thanks in advance!

I was going to post a scan however many crucial modules has various communication and immobilizer codes from the swapping of ecms in and out by me during problem solving, plus dealer visit. I can go ahead a post that busy scan. Forthcoming...
From what I've read anything more than a 100 hPa difference between both barometric pressure inputs will set the baro DTC. ?
Data transfer was plan b, if I could find a resource capable and willing.

I would suggest clearing as many fault codes as can possibly be cleared first, then posting as "clean" a scan as you can get right now, which would show the faults that still exist.

I would transfer data from one ecm to the other. ODIS should be able to adapt a used ECM unless the dealer had some rookie try to do it that didn't know what they were doing. They should of ran replacement test plan for ECM. It will pull all relevant data and transfer into new ecm. I suspect maybe they had the used ECM installed and couldn't talk to the vehicle for some reason.

In any case it is possible to transfer but at a distance there may be some hoops to jump through. Get in touch if need be.

When I do data transfer ,I transfer only Immobilizer part , so this way used ECU stays in same condition as it was before just immobilizer parts is transfer .
Simos 8.2 is very complicate ECU to do data transfer from original ECU to donor and not many people will know what to do and how to do this.

I have never run into this issue. Even with a dead ecu ODIS will ask what currently installed and try to pull data out. I don't know the circumstances but something does not sound right, personally sounds like dealer dicking the OP around if you ask me or someone that didn't know how to RTFS.

FIND ANOTHER DEALER, THEY ARE TRYING TO FUCK YOU. Coding of other module is most likely due to CP being active after the ECM change. Request copy of log please if you want forward it to me so I'll be able to tell you whether you need to ream a service managers ass out for tech's that are trying to take advantage of customers.


IN NO FUCKING WAY SHAPE OR FORM CAN A RECODE OF ANY MODULE CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE.PERIOD. FURTHER MORE WHEN THEY ADAPT A USED ECM IT SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY CHANGE THE CODING OF THAT ECM. Yep. Car was there all day on the 13th.
You have come to same conclusion as I. I wanted to post the work order to confirm my suspicions. Incompetence or predatory business behavior.... ?? Either way unacceptable.
Should have taken ~ hr for the work with ODIS and subscription

I wanted to update and close this post out-
This ECU problem has been resolved. Both the replacement Simos 8.2 ECU and the failing ECU that was reading barometric pressure incorrectly was sent to @Jetta 97. He was able to do data transfer from bad to good ECU in quick fashion. The used replacement box was plug n play upon its return to me. No baro codes and car is running great. Thanks to all that helped in the replies and to Jetta 97 for completing the work!
