My VW Golf 2014 MIB1 infortainment (attached part no.) has NO sound but working well and buttons functioning. The VCDS error code generated attached, also bought the car but the start-stop function seems disabled (power consumption too high) and I need it back. Anyone with ideas will appreciate:

Code:
Removed. Data from a clone/pirate copy of VCDS is not acceptable in Ross-Tech's forum.

Is the MIB1 a retrofit? What is its provenance?

Not sure about retrofit, any place I can check? Car is originally from Japan
Based on this
Component: MU-H-N-JP H41 0227
it's almost certainly a Japanese market part.

You say no sound, is that on media (such as SD card) as well as radio?
