Can any members advise me on the possibility of retrofitting a 'highline' reversing camera into my 2017 (16 plate) 5N Tiguan? The local VW dealership has told me this is not possible, but I have found a few references via the Mk2 Tiguan owners forum to say that this IS a possible retrofit. Ideally, I suppose I would like to use OEM kit, but if this is not possible, a high quality unit from another supplier could be OK. I would need some information on the coding for the camera (if needed) as it seems that the Youtube video I found applies to an older model than mine.

Should be possible as I think that's a popular MQB retrofit.

You have a:
Code:
Address 5F: Information Electr. (J794) Labels:| 5G0-035-MIB-STD2.clb
   Part No SW: 3Q0 035 874 B HW: 3Q0 035 874 B
   Component: MU-S-ND-ER 840 0764

Example of a similar car with a retrofitted highline camera:

I'd be temped by something like:

As I was happy with a similar camera from them I fitted to my Octavia

I am investigating the kit from the Hungarian VW agent to see what they rekon. I have sent them a photo of the head unit in my car together with the identication plate on the unit in the glove box. Hopefully they may be able to confirm that this is compatible with my car.

From the topic Uwe linked, you have the 8" Discover Pro, which definetly supports RVC. Verifying support is usually good for those smaller screened radios.
