You clearly have communications problems there; both with 01-Engine and 46-Central Conv.

What kind of cable are you using?
What USB UART chip does it use?
What kind of computer are you using?
What are the exact results when you do [Options] -> [Test] with everything connected?

Using a third party USB cable. KKL VAG-COM for 409.1
Dell optiplex with Windows 10
Options test= all good and excellent.
I have to change the baud rate to 9600 to read the engine ECU.
It's my cable isn't it?

Unclear. But the fact that you are getting communications errors with 46 may be the problem with doing the Adaptation there. Some 46 modules of that era ran at right around 10,000 bits per second, essentially splitting the difference between 9600 and 10,400, which makes things difficult for some cables.

Can you read MVBs from the 46 module? If so, what do you have in MVB 007?

I'm using default BAUD settings to read the 46 module, I can read MVBs from there yes, It shows two keys (1100) But when I switch to adaptation, it shows zero keys. When I look at instrument module it shows old key count stored value 3. I cannot change anything there either. Being able to post pics may make things clearer but no facility for that here..

Yes, there is. You need to download your pic to a remote hosting site , Imgur.com for example, then copy your pictures address between I M G brackets: bracket I M G bracket then address link then bracket / I M G bracket
(no spaces anywhere) brackets = [ ]. Post! I'm sure there are other ways as well.

See "how - to " pull down menu at top of this page for more detailed instructions.

I did see that and thought what an actual PITA.
Enable posting direct, it'd be much simpler.

This has been discussed many times on here, and the Ross-Tech 'boss' Uwe has made it very clear that he does not want to be potentially responsible for any copyright issues - so you'll just have to follow the rules and use an image hosting website like the rest of us do.

An update.
A local Locksmith told me the key fob remote was definitely working, so I addressed the issue with this in mind.
Long story short, he was wrong, it was faulty! Which is why I've been down this cul-de-sac and got nowhere!
All working now with a new remote.
Thanks for your input.

I see your problem is solved, but just for info: The number in the instrument cluster is how many immobilizer transponders are matched to the car's immobilizer, while the bits in the CCM are show the number of remote fobs matched. In your car (and keys), these are totally separate things.
