the SAVE button never lights up (ie. I'm unable to save).
Did you click [Test]? As a general rule, if you type something into a New Value field in Adaptations, you must [Test] before [Save] is available.

If that's not it, please do post a screen-shot.

OK, tried Test and was able to do it w no issue. Though the SAVE button still does not illuminate.

I replaced the part number and made sure to remove the extra space used for the previous # which was only 10 digits.
Tried both VA0 and VAO for Varta as manufacturer code. (My battery is a Varta)

Sorry, forgot to include that I don't have the serial # so I changed the existing one by altering the 2nd last digit, which I read somewhere is a workaround (true?).

Yes, any change to the serial number will cause the BMS to believe a new battery has been installed.

Why is there a test value in the field, sorry, I did not follow the entire topic. If you clear that field, is the save button enabled?
And why use of 22.10 vcds software?

What happens after you click [Test]?

The test value appears after running the test. In this case, it is returning the old INFO and the Save button remains greyed out.

Laptop was not online during this test so software update wouldn't have checked, version may need updating.

Hey guys
New screenshot, after doing the software update.
Still getting the old info returned when hitting Test and the Save button remains greyed out.

OK, you've typed in a New Value. The [Test] button is enabled. What happens when you click [Test]?

This is what it looks like after running the Test.
I tried it first with VA0 and then VAO, for Varta.
Same result, it just returns the old battery info as you can see.

Try this:

Use the existing data 4F... part number and JCB manufacturer, and don't change anything except a single digit in the serial number.

This was successful.
What is the significance of this though? Is my part number simply invalid as far as the system is concerned?
Grateful for the solve, Uwe, just always curious to know the "why".

Sounds like it. What is the capacity of your new battery in Ah?

And do we have an Auto-Scan from your car?
