Hello All,
New VCDS family member here .
I've a query on new battery registration process in VCDS using HEX-NET for my 2015 Audi Q5. I've experienced this in VCDS while trying to register new battery (EverStart AGM H8):
I don't see Address 61 - Battery regulation listed under installed addresses. Please see the image below.

I did try to go to Address 19-CAN Gateway to see if I can click/toggle on Address 61 to make it visible under installed addresses. I don't see address 61 there either. I can only see 61-Battery Regulation under Drive train tab. [/img]https://imgur.com/5zo0siy[/img]
I can't use this, as when I try to access it, VCDS will time out. So, I did further dowsing and found there is a possibility of battery registration being slave to CAN gateway and that needs a different process to register the battery. Link to my read is http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Battery_Replacement. Following this article and some other articles from the past stating to trick the module by changing just one digit in battery serial number for a battery without peculiar codes like original battery that came with my car. I just changed one number in the battery serial number for battery registration. After step one of this registration, I checked measuring block groups for 017, 018, 019 and 020 and values look sensible, all may not be correct as original battery had less Ah, CCA, and reserve capacity. Now, for the next step to manually change the values in Adaptation-10 how do I proceed? I don't see Adaptation-10 in CAN gateway, what I've in VCDS for my car is Long Adaptation-0A and options under Long Adaptation-0A are not similar to what adaptation videos states to change battery's technical details for correct charging and maintenance by ECM. Here is the entire post link , just in case.
What is the process to be followed for the second part of battery registration?
Regards,
rps
