Why does it wobble?

Hi Everyone. I have a 2006 2.5 Rabbit automatic. When taking off the car wobbles and feels like it has a tire (most likely front right) that is way out of balance. When you are cruising at any speed it is very smooth, whether fast or slow. The only time it does this is taking off or accelerating. I'm thinking it might be control arm bushings... Axle or cv joint might be a possibility but there doesn't seem to be any slop in them and no clicking when turning tight or clunking going into forward/reverse.
Has anyone had this problem and found what caused it? I would really love to get rid of this issue.

I have an 02 Jetta with the same problem. I have put different wheels and tires on it, replaced the control arm. I have not been able to narrow this one down either.

I'm wondering if it could be engine and/or transmission mounts?

There is the motor mount on the front if the engine at the timing belt, that the repair manuals say needs to be aligned, but I have never seen anything that says what it needs to be aligned with. I have suspected that it might be the cause if the problem, but have not been able to verify it either.

Sounds like the shim behind one of the inner CV's is damaged or missing.

I spent a little time this morning trying to find out about this shim, but I want really able to find anything significant about it. Can you share some of your knowledge on the subject with us?

Try looking at part no 096323839AE to 096323839CG or just ask jack.

don't strain your brain. if you are able to remove the axle, disassemble the in board joint and you will find your problem. if not just have someone replace it for you

Well I got under the car again and shook things up. It seemed the right inner cv joint was pretty sloppy. I replaced the axle, it still seems sloppy, but it did solve the problem.

Shim.........for a second I thought someone was talking about auto-auction shims...........when that word first comes to mind anyway.

As a little more to add here. I recently had a 2006 Passat 2.0t and it was doing the same thing. I replaced the loose feeling cv axle on the passenger(right) side and the right front control arm, because the rear bushing on it looked a little loose. This really made a huge difference! It was very smooth after that.
