"Theoretically" means I'm not personally aware of anything Ukraine did that would warrant such an overwhelming response from Russia. I am not calling anyone innocent, but a full-scale invasion is a rather drastic response to just about anything.
Perhaps reading some stuff will clear that up for you. However..this was not full scale invasion or it would ve been done and accounted for in the first month. It seems to me that those decision makers are so far removed from reality that it s unbelivable to listen to them. War mongers and trouble makers that do not consider anything other than their position and power ladder. I ve been bombarded with " your country is next on the list for the better part of a year ". All the while the cost of living skyrocketed but we re happy we re not that next country and didn t pay attention to anything else. Sucking us dry while scaring the shit out of us..that s what s going on...they needed the monster peeking out of the closet kinda thing.
All the while BTC crept up from 29000 to 60000 in one year...lol

Yes, still trying to "defend democracy" in a country that cancelled its elections.

The US has been in various states of conflict with the USSR and Russia continually for the last 80 years except for a brief period after the fall of the USSR and before the rise of Putin. Supporting a country like Ukraine to defend itself against Russia's invasion is just the latest incarnation of that conflict.

There are many imperfect democracies in the world and the USA and Ukraine are just two of many examples but they are are better than the Iranian, North Korean , Chinese and Russian models of how to run a country.

Yeah, that brief period when the USA thought it would be able to gain control of Russia's natural resources, which Putin put a stop to.

Exxon had investments in the Sakalin field until it was forced to exit due to the sanctions imposed when Russia invaded Ukraine. So i guess you can say Putin put a stop to it by ordering the invasion but he was quite happy to source Western technology to help develop Russias resources up until then.

China has had lots of foreign investments over the last 25 years as well, but the question is: Who is really in control of them? In China's case, they've always been under local control, and local control is what Putin wrested back when he came into power, which pissed off the American corporate kleptocracy.

investments anywhere are always subject to sovereign government risk and more so in autocracies where the rule of law is weakest. Companies look for greater returns if investing where that risk is greatest.
