Hi JMR
I think its Putin and his ultra nationalist allies who unfortunately are doing the nuclear war mongering.

But somehow all the resultant world problems are the USA's fault for supporting the Ukraine in the face of a Russian invasion and I still struggle with the logic of that.

Morning ! Think of that flow of money in the form of aid from US and EU to Ukraine..some of that comes back to different persons of interest ..... Do you think there is up to date accounting for that money ? Nope. It s a black whole . Same with 2 trillion dollars that went missing from the US Pentagon /military budget back in 2001 and no one knew where they went.
Then the "terrorist" attack on USA happend and everyone forgot about it . To this day ..no accounting for that money . And the scheme continues today . War is just misdirection. Like i said before , war is a money making scheme for others , suffering and misery for the rest.

And all the time the average person is the one who suffers. I could not help feeling completely devastated for the poor sod on their way to work on Monday who burnt to death in their car, just going to work... I just thought, you know in another life that could have been me or "there but for the grace of God go I"

HI JMR
And why do you think Putin is the richest man in the world.... Russia is his private plaything and he is accountable to no one.

The West may have its problems with "misdirection" as you are ever quick to highlight but at least the rule of law generally applies and some of the crooks get bought to justice. Not so in Russia which you are very reluctant to acknowledge at any level.

just my opinion, pour another beer

A doctor was killed in that attack, on her way to work. I can't reiterate enough that russia is a terrorist state.

Even if you right (i don't know) with the things you tell about the US and other countrys. But you are from romania and this is one of the countrys with the highest corroption in the EU.
Sorry, but "Wer im Glashaus sitzt, sollte nicht mit Steinen werfen."

Maybe you should also to tell something about the problems in your country (even if romania is insignificant) and not only look to other countrys? ;)

I did say shit about my country too. It is corrupt no doubt ! But not the most corrupt as it seem. After all , they did make it in the EU. I personally think that they accepted Romania in EU just to rob us of everything at country level of respurces ( we own nothing anymore ) but that s another story. But yes , Romania is corrupted at the highest levels of power. I can tell you the latest story of corruption here : a friend of the President which happens to be the representative dealership of BMW in Bucharest just obtained/won a state contract to provide romanian police with 600 BMW vehicles for the police force at 39000 euro per unit...my math says nearly 24 million euros contract . However , being a public auction , the specs imposed by the government were penned in such way that only a BMW vehicle could meet the criteria of specs . If not for a centimeter in height or the number of gears the gearbox should have , there could ve been offers for VW and other manufacturers .What is worse , is that the same police equipped BMW vehicle sold to Poland police force was 9.000 euros less per unit than the price for Romania. So someone gets a 5 million euros kickback. There you have it , we know about it..what do we do about it ? Nothing...

No ! Putin said that they will use any means necessary to defend Russia. Is that implying they will use nukes ? Perhaps ! . However the war mongering western media outlets changed that to the " nuclear " option. Not even Biden ( as per his latest interview ) does not believe that Putin will nuke some country. As i said , as much as you like to believe that Russia is a chaotic country , it appears that it isn t so. Are they a nuclear powerhouse ? Yes ! Doesn t mean that for every little conflict they will use it . Like a pro boxer fighting with a non competitive person , he might smack that person around but he will not use his full power unless it is cornered by say 10 normal or semipro fighters .

I think your analogy is a little off the mark.

Putin is more a street fighting bully gang leader that thought he could pick on the little guy who was walking along the street minding his own business in order to impress the rest of the gang with how tough he was and to distract the gang from how bad they were going except for their leader who was getting most of the spoils from their illegal gang activities.

Unfortunately the little guy knew a bit of Karate and embarrassed the bully. The bully then got the rest of his gang to try to teach the little guy a lesson. Luckily the little guy had a lot of black belt karate friends from his local Dojo..... and so the tale continues

no ! The little guy was just a poor decoy for the gangof thugs that sat in the cone of a shadow waiting for this other "thug" to walk by . The little guy was not minding his damn business at all this time. So far it seems tha all of the other guys coming to the rescue of this little full of shit guy could not yet put down the other guy or their karate is shit . Saga continues ....
Anyway ... Heineken? Becks? Tuborg? Cheers !

Yes Peroni and Carlsberg are my other choices of mainstream European beers that you can get in Australia. When I visit Europe I like exploring all the local small beer makers

Now to combat the high prices of everything and skyrocketing inflation , small pensions and everything else , my government came with the idea to raise property taxes by 50 %. It is in the voting chamber , i hope someone comes to their sense there . Now take that Russia, how do you like it ? . What a bunch of morons man ! What a bunch of idiots. I wonder if these people smoke bad crack everyday...

So now Putin offered Erdogan s Turkye to become a natural gas hub for Europe and send all volumes lost through Nord stream on this new pipe. Good political and economical move as Turkye is a reliable partner to Russia and Europe. Guess no one will dare to blow that pipe up now :). Now Erdogan could refuse or could accept ..That will circumvent all transited gas through Ukraine , no more income for it for transit fee. Erdogan is pretty nationalist and this will benefit Turkye s state income by large volumes..so i think he ll shake hands :). What ya think ?

I don't think anyone in Europe will want or even need to buy Russian gas from anywhere by the time any Turkish connection is built.

So I don't think anyone will want to put their money into it if they haves any sense so it is very unlikely to proceed and it's a political game for consumption by the Russian people that Putin is trying to appease and similarly by Erdogan

Because unicorns will fart out all the energy Europe needs to keep its industry running?
