HELP VCDS Not working

I have been using VCDS for years with original HEX-CAN cable purchased direct from Ross Tech.
Now gone to use for 1st time in 18 months and comes up with error interface not found when testing usb port.
I have completely uninstalled the software removed all drivers installed latest version from Ross-tech site but still no luck any ideas?
i am running windows Windows 10 on a ageing but high spec Sony Vaio laptop.

Strange. I can't find you in our customer records. Please post a photo of that "original HEX-CAN cable".

Thanks for your reply, image link above strangely when the software try's to communicate with the cable the led pulses between the red/green and orange.

... is of an illegally pirated clone of one our older HEX+CAN interfaces. Needless to say, we will not help you make it work.
