Hi,

I'm about to write a couple of HowTo's on rare topics, which I think will be of great use for a lot of like-minded people. Writing these will consume a lot of my time. For this reason, it's important to me that these HowTo's are still online in 10+ years. However, this forum doesn't allow this to happen. While written text will be permanently preserved, images will not - because this forum doesn't allow uploading images. Using external image hosters like imgurl means that the images will be gone one day. And this is a huge issue in my opinion: Some threads only make sense because of their text AND images - some tutorials are more or less useless without their images.

I'd really like to share my knowledge on an english-speaking forum instead of drive2 (which has this feature enabled). For this reason, I would like to ask @Uwe to enable the forum's "upload image" feature. Even if this means to upgrade the server's HDD capacity and increases traffic ;-)

Aaaaand I made this a poll, maybe the other forum members see this as an issue as well? I hope for the best, because this forum rocks!

Uwe has consistently said that he does not want this site to host images because of (amongst other reasons) copyright concerns, I would be surprised if he would be willing to change that view now.

Make it a PDF, save your original file locally, host another copy elsewhere and share the link here. If the hosted one disappears, host again from your archive and update the link/post in this forum.
If you later decide to edit your original, host and share a link to the updated version too.

Hi, If it will help, I can give you access to my personal online server. It does not use a lot of space at this time and I have unlimited capacity. I can even go further and create you a domain under mine so you can reign the way you want to without affecting my side! Up to you! You can then create your posts and share the links on R-T.

Correct.

I believe it can allow it on a user-by-user basis. ;)

Would you be so kind? I already have a draft saved and would like to publish it.

@Saaglem thanks for the great offer, but Uwe seems to've solved the problem for me :-)

Not sure if this will get seen as it’s a few months old… I having having weird ac issues while on a multi state road trip. I have taken several screen shots of advanced measuring values with vcds Mobile while driving to show some readings that may help someone solve my problem can i send some of these to someone with access to post photos? I can work on the post narrative describing this nightmare but I think some of these photos would help.

im in Texas heading East and it’s been 100 last couple days and I’m about to lose the little that is left of my mind..if someone can help please message me.
thanks 🥵

Why not just upload them to an image-hosting site like imgur.com as described here?
