Hello all happy holidays I hope this thread is in the right one. I have a 2005 vw golk mk4 automatic bew engine. I'm having troubles with limp mode that ABS/BRAKE light keep flashing on it. The old abs module was not responding to the ECM it was dead I still have original old module. A local junkyard had same matching part # module so I purchased it swapped it out and now I'm here. I tried coding with factory numbers the vcds gives you. The new module is responding with the ecu as I can see when hooked up to the vcds its picking it up and reading the module compared to other one when I would try and troubleshoot it would be dead this one is actually coming up on vcds. I think I maybe messed something up when trying to code the first time.? Please help! I also have a log of the car before I took of original module. Ive tried looking up videos lots of research online but seems like each car needs its own coding.

A model year 2006 VW Golf, to be more precise.

...seems like each car needs its own coding.
Do you have access to the car's PR-code sticker?

The PR Codes can be found in one of two places on the vehicle:
  1. On the sticker near the Spare Tire Well on the floor of the vehicle.
  2. The duplicate of that sticker on the 1st Page of the Service/Maintenance Manual in the Owner's Manual.

Moving to Car Repair Support.

Are you certain the old ABS module was a 1C0-907-379-L ? The letter(s) on the end matter!

seems like each car needs its own coding.
That's not applicable to cars this old.

As no TDI is a "cable throttle" engine, I would try changing the ABS module's coding to 0001025.

Yes I confirmed same part numbers before purchase. I still have original one if for what ever reason I need to send to get rebuild. ? I'm going to give it a try and change coding to 0001025. Im using same procedure as youtube video on rosstech for the Bosch 5.3 and 5.7 I know its not the same pump but learning from that video on how to code to my car Thank you guys!

MK60 is a Teves (ATE), not a Bosch. They are very different. Look here:

Your pictures show the mechanical/hydraulic components, not the control module. They do not tell us whether the original control module part number was 1C0-907-379-L.

Ok I'm going to try the coding codes you send in link I hope it works out. I also took a picture of original module this time the correct picture bad part is I don't have picture of the junkyard one that is currently installed in car if this coding does not work I will take off the one in car and make sure its same part number. Thank you UWE!

Ok I tried the coding I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly. It gave me a message about coding accepted I did not move any numbers around I just went with numbers on screen called Software coding it was highlighted 0004097 work shop code 00066 importer number 000 equipment number 00000 I pressed do it! and it said coding accepted I then went back to fault codes and deleted the fault code 01312- Powertrain Data bus 014- defective and turned car off and back on and the fault code came back and abs and brake light are still flashing. Still not getting no where can it be I installed wrong part#? Or can it be that I'm doing the coding procedure wrong.?

If the module pictured in post #7 is the original one, then this one would appear to be correct, but since it's a junkyard part, it may well be NFG.
