Hi all,

I've been VAG-Com user for 12 years and usually find answers online. My first post here:
I am rebuilding 2016 Audi TT Roadster that was involved in front end collision. I had B200 and B200F errors in the power steering tack (Address 44). From what I researched this are internal errors stored after crash that cannot be erased. I replaced the power steering rack (sw 505 5063) with used one (sw 506 5072). Both are with dynamic steering. The red power steering icon on the dashboard turned yellow and now I have assistant steering. However I still have G85 error and I see now component protection in the Gateway which I expected. I have Hex-V2 interface and from what I read here I can use AutoComSoft to do online coding. When I plug in the VIN and the part number they cannot find the combination in their database. Is my only option ODIS or I can use some other alternative solution? Here is a full scan f the vehicle as well as the original power steering rack module:

Hi and welcome.

I don't think the Component Protection fault in the Gateway is the source of your troubles, particularly since it's flagged "Intermittent", and there's no CP error in the Steering Rack.

I do think you need to properly calibrate the Steering Angle sensor. Have you verified that it works properly? Measuring Values in the ABS. It should be reasonably close to 0 degrees with the front wheels pointed straight ahead and the steering wheel centered. It must go positive when the the steering wheel is turned in one direction and negative when it is turned in the other direction.

Hi Uwe,

Thank you for your suggestion! Actually this is exactly what I did after work. I cleared all errors in all modules and calibrated the steering angle sensor. No more errors in the steering rack or ABS module except the tire pressure but I need to drive the car a little for that to clear as well. The only outstanding issue that I have is the high output module in the driver side headlight. The car was hit and the headlight smashed. I bought used headlight and installed the original modules from mine. Everything worked except that high output module. I swapped left and right and the issue stayed with the headlight so the module itself is good. I need to clean carefully the connectors and troubleshoot further. So far it's been the most challenging rebuild for me. :)

For future references - the headlight issue is resolved. Found a blown 10A fuse in the fuse panel under the steering wheel. #37 is for the left headlight #36 for the right headlight. The car i snow 100% complete, ready for state inspection.
