Hello all,
I know this might sound dumb but I searched for days to check if I can have access to Volkswagen server "the one responsible of immo data calculation" after they blocked it, or whom to contact or if they have website responsible for this matter.

Since Volkswagen's server is not a Ross-Tech product, this definitely does not belong in Product Support. Moving to General VW/Audi Repair.

To do the immobiliser on an MQB platform you need full licensed ODIS with GEKO security clearance, an officially issued to each user unique rolling code security key which you enter after your own PIN and a genuine dongle such as a VAS 6154A, clones won’t work. For the Golf 8 it gets even worse as now the car is classed as personal data so is protected under the new VAG “Vehicle Diagnostic Protection” or SFD.

So I can't have access without Odis?

In the US, Canada, and the EU, there are government regulations that require VAG to make genuine ODIS and accounts on their server available to qualified repair shops. However, my understanding is that this is not the case in all markets. I have no idea whether what the situation is in your country.

Additionally, others much more experienced here will contribute, but I don't think you are aware of the cost and effort needed: The hardware (cables, boxes) is about 2-3 thousand USD, then there are monthly, or yearly update / usage fees 500-1500 USD , then there is the paperwork , they want to know who you are and where you can be found (there are no games here) if they can't verify the information everything stops! I believe that cost is 300-500 USD just to apply (non-refundable). Overall, plan on 4-6 thousand USD to get started; and that is IF you get accepted! Below are the "hoops" for you to jump through. As Uwe mentioned above, your area may vary .

I don't mean to rain on your parade, which you have surely organized in an attempt to be helpful, but...

The erWin link above doesn't work if one isn't logged in, and it is an NAR specific site in any case. The e-mail address is NAR specific as well. Unfortunately @khaledabdulaziz is not located in the NAR market, so none of this is directly applicable to him.

I don’t know how VW Israel do it but in the UK you have to go through a very rigorous checking procedure as well as buying the VAS6154a interface (via our TPS parts system in our case) and I think it was around £1500, then there is the hourly usage fee of 10 Euro. Another thing I would say Uwe, it is probably the worst piece of software I have ever used, one of my friends is also a VAG specialist and he will only use it for everything, I can’t convince him to use VCDS and I think he is mad! People ask me why I use VCDS and my simple answer is nothing comes close and it does 95% of what I need, it has paid for itself hundreds of times over.

I have both VCDS and also ODIS (With geko) they both have there place and times where each is needed.
The difference in main stream use is if you know what your doing!
ODIS guides you through the complete job starting by showing all faults then prioritising the the faults and suggesting a test plan on how to fix
Once you start a test plan it will guide you through how to test showing where to probe and record what reading you get (it used to give you min/max now you enter the reading and it tells you if it ok)
This system is great if you don't have the knowledge on system as it should guide you through, but it doesn't always work and also takes a long time!

VCDS - scan very quickly and just gives you the faults codes - it then upto you to decide what to do.

With VCDS when you know what your doing you can scan the complete car, perform some tests and know what wrong within 15-20min
ODIS takes 10-15 min just to scan the car and decide which code to look at first.

Does that include autel im608
You can use scan Head as a pass thru device j2534, but to get license you have to apply for it go to background process and etc as they explain you above.
In USA yearly subscription is $900 per model , so AUDI $900 , VW $900.

$900 per brand! Don’t they allow you hourly, daily and monthly subs? We can choose from

1 Hour €10
24 Hours €25
7 Days €110
30 Days €210
365 Days €1760

I just use the 1 hour option as I have found it keeps on working as long as you don’t change the job BUT the workshop information starting at €7 times out dead on 60 minutes.
