Hi all,
As above I own a 21 Cupra Formentor. My first question is if VCDS will allow me to reset the service interval.
Secondly, we have had a tow bar fitted with dedicated electrics. However the installer could not programme the car due to access being denied. It was a Westfalia diagnostic with which to programme towbars.
I managed to get it coded at another specialist, but I am now left with "Front assist unavailable" and inoperative cruise control. I have read up about modules with SFD protection but it is a bit of a grey area. I wondered if anyone could shed any light on if VCDS would solve the issue, and if so, which one to buy.
Many thanks

Hi,

While waiting for more knowledgeable members to chime in regarding the applicability of VCDS to your actual issue, maybe you would be interested in comparing the functions of various RT software products: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Functions
Bear in mind that the software is essentially free and you are instead paying for the hardware (cable/interface) plus the license. There are two interfaces currently offered: https://store.ross-tech.com/shop/cat/VCDS/

Yes, it really is, especially when it comes to things like Service Resets, so I'm not prepared to make any promises here.

Do you know of anyone who has had any experience directly with the mqb evo platform, or is it still too much of an unknown?

There are a few people here on the forum from Europe who have played with them, but none of these cars are available here yet, so we have no opportunity to test anything on them ourselves yet.

Oh I see. They are becoming increasingly more common here in the UK but I can count on 1 hand how many Formentors I have seen since getting ours in April. I guess I'll just have to wait it out and see what develops.

Oh I see.
We are supposed to get the first MQB Evo ("Mk.8") cars here late this year; the GTI and Golf R. There is no chance at all that we will get the Formentor, but having access to something of the correct generation will give us far more confidence.
