Long time vcds user, just signed up here yesterday! Anyhow I've gotten into doing my own msa15/edc15 tuning on my ahu vnt powered mk1 and mk3 and wondering how and if it's possible with vcds to switch between sport and economy mode. There are two sets of n75, boost, and idle maps which I believe are for sport or economy mode. I believe this is different than the economy/sport mode for automatic transmission as that is an adaptation in the Trans module which I of course don't have.

Anyone know how to do this? If the maps are there, surely it must be? My ecu seems to have two codeblocks - 01 and 02. Would there be an adaptation for this in the engine module?

Thanks!

I will try and get one later, but it's a bosch 028 906 021 jb ecu from a 1998 jetta tdi, Ahu engine code. One of the few common ones in US.

edit - haven't done the autoscan yet, but this info might help, from at the top of one of my logs - don't remember exactly what this is, but maybe corresponds to an ecu firmware version?

1.9l R4 EDC G50SG 1457

and WSC00066.

is there any more information needed? i only have one module, the ECU, and didn't have time to wait for autoscan to run it's whole course looking for all the modules i don't have. ESC doesn't seem to abort the process.

aha! good tip! i did not know about that. i'll autoscan just 01 engine tomorrow. my old rabbit doesn't have anything else... except for some nice engine mods :)

i'd love to be able to sneak a couple extra boost/n75 maps in my tunes. i'll try posting on ecuconnections but spent a while googling without finding any ideas.

thanks uwe! man am i ever grateful for vcds over all these years. invaluable for tuning now....

perhaps some of the posts in some threads is wrong - i have seen a couple posts that mention these extra n75/boost maps are for limp mode. that makes a little more sense to me to be correct so likely what i wanted to do initially simply does not exist. shrug.
