Some locations where you can find Vehicle Speed:
  • Engine
    Measuring Block group 005 (Petrol)
    Measuring Block group 006 (Diesel)
    UDS - IDE00075 Vehicle Speed
  • Transmission
    IDE00075-ENG99967 Vehicle speed-Vehicle Speed Sensor
  • ABS
    Not recommended due to possible safety issues!
  • Instrument Cluster
    Measuring Block group 001
    UDS - IDE00075 Vehicle Speed

Note that there are several others, even an Auto-HVAC can have vehicle speed..

@Jef: Great post (entirely new to me) - love your description of "freedom units" (again, entirely new to me)- not a debate that I particularly want to start but I had to Google the term. Is it in common usage in America?
