I have a 'yellow icon' on the dash which when I look it up in the User's Manual it says to do not drive fast but get to a VW Dealer as soon as possible. I do not want to harm the engine and therefore would like to know what is wrong so I can order the parts and get it fixed. I have driven this vehicle since it was new so I know that it has not been abused but parts do go. It has been running rough for a bit now. I am a noob at understanding the output of my Scan. Just need to have some confidence on where to go from here. Hope that helps and thanks ...

Probably that yellow light is check engine light based on your scan results. Ensure that gas cap is tight enough or if the rubber seal is worn you may need to replace the gas cap as i can see large leak from your dig report and then clear the fault, and if that's my car i will drive it for at least 20-30 miles and rescan system to check if fault is disappeared or not.

Hi TFSI
I will do exactly as you suggest. I will post back once I have carried out what you are suggesting. And thanks ...

Hi TFSI
I did as you suggested and after a short while the Check Engine Light went out. It never came back on and I drove a good 30 miles. I had the battery removed around the time of the fault as I was installing a wiring harness for a Trailer Hitch. I haven't really driven it much since then but no Check Engine Light ever came on when I did. I guess that the "in-car computer' still showed the Checck Engine Light on at first but must be able to clear its own DTCs, as it went out eventually? I ran another scan when I returned home and it generated a clean report part of which I setout below. Everything appears fine now as shown below.
VIN: WVGLV7AX9HK009343 Mileage: 28190km-17516miles

01-Engine -- Status: OK 0000
02-Auto Trans -- Status: OK 0000
03-ABS Brakes -- Status: OK 0000
04-Steering Angle -- Status: OK 0000
05-Acc/Start Auth. -- Status: OK 0000
08-Auto HVAC -- Status: OK 0000
09-Cent. Elect. -- Status: OK 0000
15-Airbags -- Status: OK 0000
I had checked the gas cap previously but I reseated it before the latest drive, just in case. I want to thank you for your help and my education on the use of my scanner.
