Hello all, I would like to thank you in advance for any help you may provide. I picked up a seriously cheap 2012 Jetta SE for about $1,200... I was stoked b/c it is a manual, thought it would be relatively simple and would make an excellent beater car but then I found out exactly how complex VW’s really are… I really can’t even get it inspected in Virginia yet. Hell fire, I thought this would be better than an Audi, BMW, or Mercedes Benz… But I am learning really quickly...
The key broke in half and was stuck inside of the ignition. Had to go to stealership to get that redone. $1,000k later and it cranks. Window regulator and switch got put in. I've done the oil change, air filter, plugs, and some new ignition coils. But throwing parts at it isn't doing the job. I recently acquired VCDS and I can tell it’s a very capable diagnostic program.
Anyway, is this car a flood car? There are SOO many screwed-up modules on a 2012 it’s asinine. I will post up the auto scan and let y’all take a look. If you know how to fix any of the above please let me know.
On the plus side, the radio works and the stick shift is fun. I was really impressed on the back roads in this car. Handles excellently!
Major concerns:
1.) Airbag light r/t passenger seat occupancy. I purchased the under-seat occupancy control module and installed it.
2.) No A/C but worked on the way home with the car??
3.) Check Engine light and the engine is LOUD and whiney.
4.) Tire Pressure light/TPMS (can it be disabled?)
