First time posting a hard job ;)
I have a car that had its abs ripped out.
Supposedly from vw they say the original unit was ABS PUMP 1K0614517BK BEF from the vin number in his system. We fitted a pump with the last three letters off, 1K0614517BK is the same though.
Below is the scan data, was hoping someone could help with new coding values

Thank you so much. The code was accepted. Still won't go through to last step on process though. I think there is a wiring issue as this car has had the abs unit including wiring ripped out and someone else has redone the wiring. The code b+ short to ground is still showing and system shows code 4 .

Thanks for the update. The current condition Auto-Scan would help but it looks like this car uses a G608 sensor (rather than component G294) located in the brake booster and wired to the ABS module. PL24 shows that based on VIN as part number 1K0 998 213 and it has 3 wires per ABS diagram #33 on page 4.

If you haven't done so already I would confirm this car has that sensor and the wires are properly connected to the ABS module.

Thanks a lot for your time.
I had to look up pl24 (partslink24.com) right.
Do I need a subscription to use it ?

The issue is the job came to me with the wiring done. Even the abs was selected ,this was recommended from a vw dealer.
ABS PUMP 1K0614517BK BEF when he run the vin number in his system.

The pump used was the same but without BEF at the end (which I thought was not part of the number). Anyone know what that is for ?

When I questioned about wiring or possibility of loose wiring, he said the wires were matched by color coding on them and soldered.

In the meanwhile a temp link to the PL24 screen shot related to the G608 sensor may be helpful:


I would firstly make sure that sensor is present and connected. Providing it is, the wiring diagram should add clarity to the wire colors and terminals at each end to make sure everything is connected correctly.

Next, the 1K0 907 379 AP 03-ABS module appears to be correct based on VIN. The part number of the loaded pump and module is 1K0 614 517 BK and the BEF at the end just indicates "filled and vented" (i.e assembled and pre-filled) so I wouldn't worry about the lack of that suffix. It was likely printed on the receipt for billing reasons but may not appear on the labels on the part itself.

Ok i looked a the brake booster and cant find a sensor there (item 10 in the diagram). Booster number is 1K2614105AR.
Below is the updated scan (i see the short is not showing any more). I had retried the ending steps from the last abs calibration but the lights still remain. (traction control and abs).
I then tried steering recalibration for code 01486, but im not sure im engaging the system correctly.
I understand i need to hold the brake pedal down hard and wait till lights change. initially i couldnt get any change, now i see the abs light is solid and then starts flashing once held down. I have driven about 8 circles at 20kph (Steady) and the flashing light goes to solid (abs) like it was before starting.
So im stumped at the next step now.

That scan looks a lot better! It might not feel like it, with the lights beeping/flashing at you, however you made progress.

Moving forward, the System Function Test gives you roughly 50 seconds to complete successfully and if too much time passes you get 01486 -and- 01487. The later simply means it was initiated but failed or timed out. When that happens I think it is easiest to shut the engine off, wait 5 seconds, start the car back up and start over with brake pedal pressing step from the beginning. When it works as expected the test only takes 10 - 20 seconds from start to finish on this Golf 6 based model.

The most common issue when that test will not complete is caused by communicating with the 03-ABS module during the procedure. Make sure you were using the steps here:

Well I spent hours redoing the tests and starting from the beginning. Trying my older scanner and finally it threw 4 errors for speed sensor and one for yaw sensor. I then went back to the shop and jacked up the car. The right front abs sensor is connected to the rear left and vice versa. Hence it would never complete the final step :) I assume this the problem and will try fix the wiring. Any chance you would have access to a wiring diagram for that plug to abs ? Thanks

Ok sorted, the two twisted pairs look very similiar in colour so it was an easy mistake i guess. Swapped them over and voila the ABS is all coded.
